Unknown delicacy. Chicken hearts have a mild chicken flavor, quite a lot of texture and a very mild offal taste. Chicken hearts are also a very nutrient-dense part, rich in protein, B vitamins (especially B12), zinc, selenium, and iron. Quickly fry in butter and oil and season with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and possibly a splash of lemon juice.

About our meat

Reko is Swedish, organic, and KRAV-labelled chicken from five farms in Östergötland and Skåne. Reko chickens live freely in generously sized barns, with the opportunity to go out into a large garden where they can roam and peck freely. The chickens grow slowly and on organic feed, which results in flavorful and juicy chicken meat.

Handling advice

Kycklingdetaljerna bör antingen frysas omgående efter leverans, eller tillagas innan sista förbrukningsdag. Tänk på att använda en separat skärbräda till köttet och tvätta kniv och skärbräda direkt efter användning. Alla detaljer är vakuumförpackade för bästa hållbarhet och märkta med namn, ursprung, vikt och datum.

Rekommenderad förvaringstemperatur är max +4°C för färskt kött och -18°C för fryst kött. Köttet håller ca 8–12 månader i frysen. Tina gärna upp köttet långsamt i kylskåpet över natten, eller i sin vakuumförpackning i kallt vatten.

Chicken liver
