Making bone broth is easy, but it takes a little time. Our bones, of course, maintain the same high quality as our meat. The bones are excellent as a base for your bone broth, which can be drunk as is or used as a base for soups and stews.

Raw material: Beef bones (organic & grass-fed)

The bone broth can, of course, be enjoyed on its own or used as a base for slow-cooked dishes, where it is simmered with all the flavors of the stew. But it also provides a simple start to a quick soup. Add your favorite vegetables, some spices, and perhaps something from yesterday's leftovers. Simmer it all together and voilà, dinner is ready!

The fat leftover from cooking the broth can, of course, also be saved. It is excellent for frying or deep-frying vegetables or potatoes, for example. Remove the fat when the broth has cooled and the fat has hardened, making it easier to transfer and store in a jar. The fat then keeps for approximately 1–3 months in the refrigerator.

NOTE: The box does not contain marrow bones; these can be purchased separately in pairs.

About our meat

Our beef is organic, grass-fed beef from Western Sweden. We collaborate with around 40 cattle breeders from Ekshärad in the north to Simlångsdalen in the south. These are farms that we are proud to work with, as they focus on both quality and care for animals and nature. All animals are raised on grass and herbs, which allows them to grow at a natural pace, and the meat thus has time to become marbled, flavorful, and tender. The meat is dry-aged for 7–14 days and hand-cut at our butchery in Uddevalla. On whole cuts (i.e., everything except minced meat), you will always find complete origin information: from which breeder the animal comes, as well as its sex, breed, and age.

Handling advice

Benen bör tillagas omgående eller frysas in. Hållbarhet i frys är cirka 6 månader. Tänk på att skölja benen innan användning och koka buljongen på andra uppkokets vatten. Det ger ett renare och mildare slutresultat. Den färdiga buljongen håller sig i kylskåp cirka 1 vecka och minst 6 månader i frysen. Ett fettlock överst i burken förlänger hållbarheten vid förvaring i kylskåp.

Alla ben är löspackade i livsmedelspåsar i kartongen och i och med att det levereras fryst kan det ibland bilda en klump. Vi rekommenderar då att släppa benen mot en hård yta och sedan packa om i mindre portioner.
